General Discussion / Re: A very rare Camaro indeed

That's my point.  According the the owner, he swore it was factory.  I didn't want to argue with him.

Never argue with an idiot. People watching can't tell the difference :)   Joe

The trim tag reads X22. Lots of things wrong with the car. Maybe somebody has more on it. 711 is the trim. Does look like a "Z" instead of a 7...Joe

I just paint the m/c with semi gloss black paint & just be careful when adding brake fluid. BTW, the machined surfaces got no paint If you want to know about the new dot 5 & the new offshore rubber seals, I have a horror story for that....Joe

Those brackets & the bolts were installed at the engine plant & all painted at the same time as the rest of the engine. Tonawanda & Flint may have used different bolts but try to remember that the engine plants went through possibly thousands of bolts in a day & could've been different from time to time. The only way to be close to positive on what bolt was used is to find a virgin engine from that the same engine plant, built on the same day & document it.....Joe

I guess that's why Instrument Services charge 350.00 to do a sender. Bob's Speedo is 400.00 to 700.00....Joe

I've only used the original GM. They pop up on e-bay from time to time. I collected enough to do both of my cars so I stopped looking for them....Joe

Non style trim cars are body colour. Style trim cars, that are rally green are painted black....Joe

If you're talking about the ball vents, all 68 Camaros had those. If it was a 67, that would be an A/C car....Joe

I'm not totally understanding your post. What year are you working with & is it LA or Norwood built? What pieces do you need to find?....Joe

If there's no hole in the subframe for the rod, then most likely the car didn't have a spoiler when new or the subframe got changed....Joe
