Originality / Brake bleeder on the master cylinder or not?
« on: June 01, 2025, 03:47:52 pm »
From the Chassis section in the main menu, is the last sentence still understood as the same? Just curious, and always appreciate the effort for the information.

Power drum and power disc brake master cylinders were installed at an angle which trapped air in the bores of the master cylinder. Bleeder valves were installed to allow this air to be purged from the system. The manual disc brake master cylinders were installed horizontally and did not have bleeder valves.

We believe the manual drum master cylinders also did not have bleeders, but there is some conflicting data and this is still being researched.

General Discussion / Is this for a 67-69 or Chevelle?
« on: April 30, 2025, 03:38:47 am »
Picked this gem up in Carlisle with the switch and the guy had another switch to boot. Big score. The web never lies but I’ll believe it here regardless. Camaro, Chevelle, something else?

The original owner ordered the car and paid for it to be applied, which the tech sprayed on stem to stern before delivery in early 68….gas tank and both rear wheel wells included. I think the tech got paid by the pint as well, or she tipped him before he did it so he would cover everything. I’m pretty the vibration/noise on decel is because half the drive shaft has some on it. It’s pretty thick underneath but definitely saved the floor from recycling back to Mother Earth. I’d like to retain whatever original patina from the factory is there if I can and have it looking stock again with a slight weight reduction as well. I’ve added a picture of the underside showing the fuel tank and straps. It’s also very hard and dried out as well, and did I mention…thick? There’s a lot of methods out there-from Dry ice spray, oven cleaner and scraper, wire wheel, etc. Your suggestions are appreciated in advance.

Channing Tatum drives a 67 SS Convertible, there’s a bunch of car scenes and it’s a good movie. Watch the trailer and decide for yourself.

General Discussion / Ford-No more paper owners manual books.
« on: February 10, 2024, 04:47:06 pm »
As of January 2024, Ford stopped shipping a paper copy of the owners manual with the vehicle. You only get a supplement. Part of my acceptance for vehicles beside verification is the manual.

Hey man, make sure to bring me an owners manual on your next delivery. There isn’t one in the glove box.
No can do.
?
It’s now built into the vehicles software.
?
Scroll through the touchscreen.
So if I have to replace a fuse, I have to use the touchscreen to find where it is?
Yep
What if the battery is dead.
Dunno man, I just sell and deliver em.

6-cylinder Camaros / Muffler and tail pipeinfo needed
« on: February 09, 2024, 02:25:50 am »
If your car has an original muffler still on it, let me know. I’m looking for clarification, but the outlet should be in the center. If yours is in the top corner, I’m curious how it sits level. Pictures and details as always are very much appreciated. Tail pipe and anything else you care to share.
