I’m curious about the branding on this. Don’t recall seeing it elsewhere, but hey….we all learn.

I bought it because it had the deluxe trim on it. Curious about the made in Canada history. Chime in and we can all learn.

Killing time at the airport after my big score for parts at Carlisle…
FYI…TSA doesn’t care about your used correct numbered alternator in your carry on bag…nor horns, 68 headrests, and other parts. Found a solid 68 dash with deluxe trim. I had to buy 2 guitar boxes from FedEx and checked at the curb. If you have never been,  I highly recommend you go at least 1 time.

Anyway, so my 83 year old friend trusts me enough to move his car out of the garage to document it. We’ve known each other for 32 years, so that’s nice he does. I spent 5 hours because last time I only had film. Now after joining CRG and .Net, I have listened and learned.

It’s a maintained and unrestored original. Still original top to bottom. Documented Shipper copy, 30 options, because when you’re father in law is the General Superintendent of Manufacturing for Chevrolet in the 60s and has some pill……A few pictures now, story later.

Picked up a set of 68s at Carlisle…..put them next to a 69 for comparison. Feel free to add your knowledge.

General Discussion / Thank to those who put this site together!

On Team C a guy bought a 6 cylinder cinvertible.....manual top, 3 on the floor, red deluxe :-[that had been sitting for 25+ years. We've be chatting and he sent me pictures of the title still in the old owners name/Trim Tag /VIN. So I go to the handy dandy chart, and lo and behold the VIN is is nowhere close to match up to the TT.
01A TT with an May build VIN. You know the rest....look for the hidden Vinson, verify everything,  and depending.on the state....gotta get it right before anything else.

General Discussion / 68 NOS Fender stamping numbers
« on: March 31, 2023, 02:54:39 AM »
I have 2 friends (and they’ll admit to it) that are building 68s. They have NOS fenders with stickers and 1 set was still in the GM boxes. Only the passenger side has the run number stamping. I bought my fenders in 1988 and both fenders have run numbers. Any information about this is helpful and appreciated.

Mod-if this needs to be moved, feel free to.

Originality / Steering center link mark

Mods, if this needs to be moved to the proper place, do it.

Laying on the ground and taking a few pictures, saw this white swatch on steering link.

General Discussion / Wrecked 68 for sale
« on: March 20, 2023, 05:18:40 PM »

Pretty sure it’ll never hit the street again. Looks like it hit everything except the pace car, and I got them to send me a picture of the trim tag.

Log it in. Also has the black spray paint around the ashtray section…someone has a thread about that.

Mods….if you need to move anything, do so.

Originality / Back to the Future

My new Sunday morning ritual is to pick an area of interest, go to the oldest post and work my way back to the future. Interesting stuff and always learning after being in this genre for 37 years. Todays topic I found interesting was about Astro window glass. My car is an 11E and now I have to photograph the dates, because the Astro was dropped in November.
