General Discussion / Wiper motor with XXXXXXXX
« on: September 23, 2023, 03:19:38 PM »
I’ve seen this 68 wiper motor with XXXXXXX over the old number and the new one stamped above. I’ve searched here but still don’t understand.

General Discussion / Can I get some clarification please.
« on: September 16, 2023, 05:58:13 AM »
After searching and searching and rabbit holing on several threads here for 45 minutes, I give up.
How was this seal applied?
Pre assembly and adhesive before delivery to the assembly line??
Pre assembly and clips before the assembly line?
There’s no indication to “remove adhesive backing”
Thank you in advance.

General Discussion / Need help 68 RS headlight assy
« on: September 09, 2023, 04:49:47 PM »
The resto shop dragged their ass and didn't meet their timeline, so I paid my bill and took my car....back in 1993. "Gonna finish it someday" is now and I've tried mocking up the both front actuator mount brackets. The outer hole doesn't line up for either side. Not even close. Worse even semi-mocked up the actuator is too close the the lower pivot. The inner fenders are GM, fenders are GM, Lower panel is GM-all purchased and assembled in 1993. Any thoughts or ideas are welcome. If there is a way to identify an a GM inner fender, please chime in. If you have pictures of your 68 to share during assy, please do. My headlight capsules were crushed in the accident, so I'm not sure the aftermarket parts are an accurate representation when it comes to the lower pivot welded arm location. I've studied the AIM and need some help. If you've encountered any of this before, chime in, PM me and we can chat. Pictures attached of how far off the outer hole is the the 2 front bolts in. I kinda know what I have to do, but .....
Thanks in advance.

Oy. Let’s count ‘em up fellers….and I’ll start.
It’s got the very cool “Caution fan” sticker.

General Discussion / IN N OUT 75th

Taking the 68….Tis pricy and while I’m not a fan of paying to show my car, it’s a one in a lifetime deal. Plus parking is amongst nice cars. If I make it to the 100th, I’ll be in my 80’s. Who else is going?

You gotta love the man who invented refrigeration. 1000 cars inside the Classic auto mall on top of the show is way cool.

Originality / White striped air cleaner hose
« on: July 06, 2023, 03:25:27 AM »
My 68 is an automatic and while doing another project, I pulled them off the bottom and cleaned them. Notice the zipper pattern from the roller wheel. Interesting how it has notches about every 6”. Anyone want to share/confirm/deny?
Is this the same pattern for the vacuum advance hose?

You’ll need a powerful flashlight and just follow the sequence of pictures.

Originality / Wrapping it up
« on: June 17, 2023, 04:32:39 PM »
For the RS 68, the AIM shows some sore of wrapping on the vacuum hoses. Non sticky tape black maybe. The non RS version doesn’t show it with a covering. However, the C60 options shows the vacuum hose with no wrap.  I’m curious. 68 and 9 pictures included. Comments welcomed.

From my 11E, note the circle and letter D in the center. I wonder what that translates to.

General Discussion / Orange stripe on RS vacuum hose
« on: June 12, 2023, 08:38:41 PM »
30 years later and nobody makes the orange striped hose from the headlight switch to the relay. Inline Tube sells color striped hoses, but not orange. I called tech support…”yes we stripe the hoses, no we won’t  make an orange one.”
As I understand, the Legends cars now require the orange stripe. 🧐🧐🤔🤔🤔

General Discussion / Run stamped code on door skin
« on: June 07, 2023, 02:00:45 PM »
Is there one? I have a NOS and am selling it. It's at a friends house and I'm nowhere close. If so, where would it be? I found nothing in the "search" box that helped.
Thank you in advance.

Originality / 68 RS Actuator answers needed
« on: May 28, 2023, 11:25:24 PM »
A little clarity please. The front piece is single barbed and the rear is a 90 degree bend. These came off in 1993 after the accident. From my 68, but the vacuum ports are obviously different from the OER pieces.
