This cable is not difficult to make (see my earlier post).  Mine may not pass judging, but it definitely protects the dash/glove box from being hit by the passenger seat.  I used 1/8 inch diam. stranded cable for the center section as I'm not sure exactly what the factory used.  Think that's the only deviation from original.  Anyone know for sure what color the insulation was.  See many photos with grey.

Finally got around to pulling the seat out to get to the cable. Here are a couple of pics. Both the cable and blade connector's insulation is gray. I Also included a few dimensions. Note; blade connectors are offset to one another.

If there's anything else you'd like better pics of let me know.

Posting a pic of mine from my '67, as they are a little different.  The whole cable is coated black on mine, and the ends are not coated.   Overall length seems to be the same.  Connector length also seems the same.  My Camaro is relatively early, maybe they changed sometime during production.

The cable on my 68 is black. The ends are coated and gray like Marty's.
Maybe they did change as time went on?

Hunt Craigslist for every seat you can find and ask the seller to part with one. Or try E-bay. I got mine from cars I parted out.

As I posted earlier, on my 67 the cable insulation is Black and the spade end connectors are not coated.  I'm thinking if I heat up the ends, I may be able to pry them open.  I have some spray Black plastic coating.  I'm thinking if I can get the original ends off, I can put them on a new piece of cable and re-crimp them, maybe even silver solder them .

Any updates on a source for pass. seat teather cable?  I sprayed my home made one black to match the seats......but wondered what the factory original cable color was.

 I just checked both my '67 Camaros and found the following:
NOR 5B 760Z standard black interior (restored interior but used same cable) - gray cable coating and gray heat shrink ends
LOS 4B 760Z standard black interior (original survivor interior) - black cable coating and black heat shrink ends
Neither car has a cable on the drivers seat.
I think it may be safe to assume there were multiple colors.

Looks like the cable was white, gray, or black, and perhaps random...

In post #76 I said my NOR was gray with gray ends, but looking at the picture Boston14 posted, that is more of what I have. It looks more like an off white (towards gray) to me.
So it looks like we are back to either "white" or black cables with either gray or black heat shrink ends.
