Noticed the early ad for Sonic Drive In , Service at the speed of Sound ! and a chrome breather top on one of the SS from Bradley Chevrolet. Real adjustment for all those folks that claim this that ,the other  factory options that did / didn't come as options . Would like to see some interior shots that matched the exterior trim packages. Real eye opener for me. Thanks for posting this. Good luck to all on your projects.

Garage Talk / Re: Pomona Swap Meet

Not hijacking Pomona, last time I went to Charlotte Autofair was 2001, took Thursday and Friday and left Saturday early for the same reasons . Lots of new stuff, 40.00 t shirts, didn't buy anything in 3 days. Extremely disappointed, very little left  of what used to be a good show.  Cold n windy , less than 10 first gen Camaros on the track. All the vendor spaces inside and out full of stuff. Just nothing I was looking for. This sums it up, took an original GM 68 SS Camaro hood week 22 dated to sell, trade and couldn't get any interest in it. Good luck to all on your projects.

Had to get my grandson to show me how to upload pictures. Here's a higher resolution image of the same hood from the previous image. The 3 drain holes are clearly missing but does have the alignment holes. I am unsure if my hood is a 67' or a 68' hood.
Thanks to all the guys on here for trying to help me make a decision about this hood.
Good luck on all your projects

Got the hood home, finally took out of the truck.Took the louvers out. Has the alignment hole, doesn't have the tabs or the 3 small drain holes as shown in previous pictures from Ed. Doesn't match what is shown in the 69 Camaro AIM. Had the #1 chrome ornaments L &R.H. , #3927469-70, #3 3927468 screens (2), #4 3927471-2  Plate L. & R.H., 11 of the 12 nut #9419756. Does not have the #3 3898146 Seal (2), #6 3903974 TUBE-DRAIN (2) ,that goes in the holes that are not in this hood. Still looking for a GM original hood for my 69 SS. Thanks to all. Good luck on all your projects

Originality / 69 SS hood underhood pictures
« on: August 10, 2021, 10:25:49 PM »
Hello all, been using search function to try to get a good picture of the bottom side of the factory 69 SS hood, from the search I understand that the 67-68 SS hoods did not have the drain holes that the 69 has. Before I drive 3 hrs to buy this hood from an individual, could someone please post a picture of the bottom side of a factory 69 SS hood that will show the correct drain holes. Hate to ask but would like to get this before Saturday, as I have committed to going to look at hood and fenders that he has for sale. I have pictures of the underside of the hood he has sent to me ,I just don't know the difference.  Pretty sure I will know if fenders are repop, but not sure of hood. So if anyone can help keep me from buying anything other than a "Factory Correct 69 SS Hood" please advise, tell, inform, keep me from my own ignorance,  SIS (Self Inflicted Stupidity), please help me buy once, cry once. Thanks in advance and good luck on all your projects.

So if you were trying to do both shows and you would be flying and motels would you do Carlisle on Friday/Saturday and Frederick on Saturday/Sunday? Still working real job so using vacation.  Trying to get myself motivated enough to get started on my retirement project. Would like to see complete floor/trunk/quarter panels/sheet metal. Looking on internet doesn't do it for me. Haven't been to car show in 30 years. Or would you spend 2 days at Carlisle? Haven't driven it since 86. It's rusty smelly and needs a s### load of cash, and I've owned it since 78.

Originality / YJ date vs engine stamp date
« on: January 17, 2021, 05:50:20 PM »
Hello all,6 hr road trip yesterday to buy 4 YJ wheels w good tires. 1 date code really perfect and clear like the one in the forum. KI 9 04 30 YJ,others can make out the YJ really good, reading from outside in. All have the finger style rings and rims look like they have been on and off a good bit, scratched paint, also have been repainted a few times, flat center caps, seller says they all came off X 11 car that was heavily modified including rims changed. Fro doing search on here looks like I will have to demoing tires to look for code. My engine code is T 04 29 HB. 2 questions, should I just pretend all the rims are like the best looking one,or continue to look for 4 more with the correct date? Question 2, while doing search for rim info on this site ,came across 2016 post about Firestone white letter tire size. Currently on my 69 I have 15 X 8 Corvette rims with the 4 clip rings and derby caps ,put them on early 80s? ,when post says small letter tires ,what is the size of the letters for small vs large. Thanks in advance and good luck on all your projects. BTW the 69 I posted about earlier is still for sale with price drop.

Talked to owner, not vinyl top,two tone paint,Glacier Blue body, Diver White top, repainted late 70's. N66 wheels added by previous owner. Question 1,what would the stamps be correct for a 69 Camaro rim for N 66 rim? Cowl tag say NOR 267665, O2D, 715 (interior, blue vinyl,it has white std interior),53 (Glacier Blue),D90 Black body stripe. Question 2, looked at CRG production charts, VIN # is out of range, all on chart start with
5xxxxx,this one starts 267665, is this possible or is it red flag ?. Not sure about this. Going Saturday am to look.unless someone can tell me about Cowl Tag #. Wish I knew how to post pics from IPad for someone to see. Can someone get back to me about this before Saturday . Thanks to all who have been so kind to reply. If it is a correct car and the rims check out ,I would try to buy car and sell/ trade rims for correct steel rims. Hate to ask for help but need to know. Merry Christmas to all ,and good luck on all your projects.
