Have you tried to get the NCRS report? If it is available for your VIN, it would list the original dealer it was shipped to at least.

I think with the flex seal tape already on, you're going to be limited to possibilities. I doubt you'll be able to remove it, but you might be able to slice it and try to get the gap closed and retape it.

From observation it seems that round bars may have been available sometime in Oct/Nov. 66, and square bars were available sometime in Feb/March, 67.

Most that I have seen have been fairly prominent, but there are some that are harder to see because of light stamping.

Thanks Bryon. I was expecting the top to be White. I like Mountain Green and was hoping to see that contrast. I forgot that the vin was in the first post.

Yes. It was an option in 1968, so it was available.
