Good catch Mike. Interesting for sure. It would be nice to see a better pic of the back.

The tail pipes look similar between both cars, but the one you posted has straight cut tips and the auction car looks like beveled tips. Could have been changed of course. Otherwise, they look like they could be the same car.

68 tail lights and door mirror. I can't see the signs enough to see if there is any indication of where that is. Pretty cool and unusual photo.

Yeah, that was pretty pricey at around $100 each after Z27 was added. That's why so many after market wheels were sold.

Kind of odd that “1970” SS has SS wheels, I think they dropped that option on 69,s about December of 68. I guess they planned to bring the option back for 70

Yeah, I've seen other promo pics with those wheels. I guess the idea was to help differentiate the "70's" from the 69's. I think it's a great looking wheel and looks perfect on 69 Camaro's.

You really need to know the back stories to understand the sale prices.

I find it interesting that someone would install a fake TT and not disguise it by grinding, sanding or heavy paint treatment. Makes me wonder it they are that misinformed or just don't care that they may take advantage of someone else? Unfortunately, I think I already know the answer.

There are no bad colors in 69.

I like Frost Green!

Ditto!

Philip, thanks for the clarification. I thought that was probably the case, but thought I'd ask anyway. I actually thought it might be because if the doors failed to operate you'd have no headlights. So the added lights would be a failsafe of sorts.

Kind of a smart move to put them in the backup lens since they weren't obvious and didn't attract attention as in the running/brake lights. I was told by the officer that ticketed me (more than once), that the blue/purple hue was in conflict with the blue lights that emergency vehicles use. Seemed pretty dumb, but some people are easily confused I suppose. I relocated them to the backup lens as an act of defiance and never had a problem.

I actually got more attention and crap from police for having a whip antenna with a light on the tip. I don't know how many tickets I got for that. I was able to get away with it for awhile by tinting the back of the bulb red and the front orange, mimicking the tail and parking lights. I finally stopped using it when an officer threatened to impound my car after repeatedly stopping me. He would follow me home, sit there and wait for me to leave, and then follow me wherever I went. As long as I didn't screw up, he'd leave.

FWIW, I'd keep the hitch installed on the car. It's a nice characteristic of it.
