Help with some knowledge if this car has issues, COWL tag vs Vin

I'm looking at a 1967 Camaro VIN#:124377N122998, the COWL tag shows a build date of 05E. In researching these and some help from some others I'm seeing that Vin number was produced in Oct of 1966 and the COWL tag shows May 1967. Is this possible or is this a huge red flag something definitely wrong? Thanks in advance for any help.

No, those two don't match up. Check the hidden vin for a match.

VIN tag is on upside down and with aftermarket rivets; IE the VIN has been off of this car or from another car.
