Agreed. It's legit. Exactly like the ebay one.
Not sure how you would even restamp a sheetmetal part like this.

Quote from: RD4 on April 20, 2026, 05:37:25 PMbut from what I can tell yeah I think they shipped most of the parts and the body from California
Do you have any evidence of this? I question this. From what I know, all CKD's were shipped from NJ. Including the Philippine CKD's.
The body was not shipped assembled - it was in pieces just like all CKD vehicles.
> The parts and subassemblies for CKD export units were the same parts and subassemblies that were delivered to the NOR and LOS assembly plants.

03D is the start date of the body. Several shifts until it's finished.

Tag looks reasonable, but I'm always skeptical about any 10-10 car. They weren't in high demand back in the day, but they are now. Lots of fake tags out there.....

I've had a picture of that repro POP for 10+ years.
Here's a pad picture.
Production total for KE = 0. Doesn't mean there aren't some now out there, like this one.

The top stamp is a fake. They didn't start the YH until Dec 68.

Probably the supplier.

See "Vintage Hurst Shifters, A Complete Guide Volume 1" by Pete Serio. I think Pete also rebuilds them.

It sounds like they are VIN from an inventory sheet. You can reach out to RUNUTZ and confirm if there's any documentation for your car.
You can also send in for your selling dealer: https://www.camaros.org/geninfo.shtml#MyCarHistory (I see via your other post that you just did that).

I was wrong - we did see a Peruvian Camaro about 20 years ago. And I know of one is Sweden.  All have been 68's.  Not many seem to survive.
From the info I've been provided, there no tag underhood.
The engine is from a 79 truck engine.
Have you looked for codes on the trans or axle? 10 or 12 bolt?

Thanks!

I'm pleased to announce that Bryon and Jerry wrote a new article on the Z28. It's been a long time coming!

Finally! First Peruvian Camaro that I've actually seen!
Can you post a picture of the VIN and are there any tags underhood?

Duh, I figured it out. 69 trans that someone put a 68 pan on it.

No, that's the model year vs calendar year. https://www.camaros.org/geninfo.shtml#modelyear

The stamp must be T9M22D.

If you want to look factory, don't paint underhood. Clean instead. If you really feel the need to paint the air cleaner, buy a used one and paint it.
