« on: February 13, 2017, 10:20:32 PM »
Hello could someone tell me how many months prior to a car being built is the carb date. For example if car was
built in june 1968 would a February or March be correct. Also what carb came on car rochester or carter. Or you need the build sheet
thx mike

Carter built Quadrajets were built and used for many years - including 67-9.
>However, Carter was also licensed to build the Quadrajet as a secondary source, and supplied carburetors to not only Chevrolet, but other GM divisions as well.
June car probably had a May or June carb on it (depending on when in June).

Carb for June car, yes most likely dated in May. Early June carb possible if car is a late June build.

Thank you KurtS and Mike. A friend told me that it is possible that you can use a carb built
in March or April also. He said you can go back as far as 2-3 months just trying to clarify this.

My thinking the date depends in part of the engine popularity so I'm sure the carb date would vary.
