Thanks guys. Definitely a cool car but with a few bugs to work out. Which is the fun!

Looks like from your pic and signature that your Gold Z 39K is also pretty original with the POP. Which car is more original? Do they both drive the same?

Silver car is more original. There were a few odds and ends missing on the Gold car, but the Silver car is all there except for the Alternator. Both cars are well documented.

The Silver car has 104K miles on it so the interior is not near as nice as the Gold car. The Gold car drives better too since it has radials, new front springs and I re arched the rear springs. It is rattle free...pretty cool for an old car.

No dealer, individual.
Kurt the guy I bought the car from lived in the next town over from the gentleman that owned the car from 1971 - 2012. He had known about the car since he was a kid. He bought it Dec 2012 and was planning on painting it and driving it but decided not too. Said he had too many projects and decided to sell.

I think what Kurt is asking is who is the original dealer on the POP who sold the car in 69?

Sure glad you got her and it went to someone that will preserve and appreciate the originality. The first time it ran on EBay I contacted him and was very interested in it but just not in a position to buy it without selling one of my chevelles which I considered doing. Love the color and history of the car. Congratulations!

From your signature it looks like you have very nice Chevelles. I can understand the reluctance to part with one of them.

The Silver car is very cool for sure. I am very happy with it. Look forward to putting the original shifter, shifter linkage back in. I am going to try and fix the original grill too. The second owner told me he painted it flat black in the early 70's just like everyone else did. The original Cortez Silver is still on the perimeter of the grill. If I can't get it fixed then I will just paint the grill that is in the car. There are two bad spots behind the back glass on the outboard corners that I am going to fix too. The paint has acid rain marks on it so I will have to lift those. The paint does not have any lacquer checking in it. Not positive the best way to remove the acid rain. I am guessing with polish compound using the most delicate first then moving to more aggressive if the marks dont come up? Any advice here is welcomed.
