Restoration / Re: springs on 69z
« on: August 31, 2012, 10:36:49 PM »
I did some measuring and the springs hbc sells for a small block are not z springs! My car is almost 3 inches higher than it should be. I kid you not it looks like the engine is out. From what i have found, i need the moog part 6803. Of course i have a show in my home town town at our fair and i hope we get rain so i can leave it home. Really disgusted with hbc after they talked me out of an nos set they hadz and then sold me these. The set they have is 6312, and its not even the 2nd choice for a z

My car had a yf tag on the spring we took off. What is really annoying, one side is 3/4 inch higher than the other!

Was looking at a chart in the classic industries book and they show the 6 cylinder coupe using the same coil  spring as a z. Might drop mine down a bit

Just had my front springs replaced and the moog ones from HBC were 2 coils higher. Car doesn't sit where it should. No one is selling the specific ones anymore so these were genetic  for small block, no air. anyone have better luck? Also appears the back springs are sagging. anyone  tried to rearch them?

Noticed it has hood insulation and trunk mat. Weren't those only for deluxe interiors?

hope I got all  the link, it goes off today. After seeing a "survivor" with a replaced block, wrong heater hoses and several other suspectable things, I saw this car and it is unrestored but repainted and has picture of block on engine stand. Gosh whats left that hasnt been restored??

Mine has tube and hose and pretty sure its the original hose. No clip. I did buy a used one and wondered why it has orange paint on it

Restoration / Re: Paint gun....choosing the right one.

I am no expert but just purchased a gun from Eastwood that is on sale for a couple days. Their concours gun is supposed to work on a home compressor hvlp gun. Primer can be hard on a gun if you use it much so i will use a harbor cheap gun my buddy has. It really puts out material
