Need a little help. I have cowl pics, taken with my phone. I finally got them down to the size that will work but now says it wont take bmp pictures. How do I change it to jpg or something? I tried to change the name and that didnt work

My cousin builds racing engines and last time I was there had a 2000 hp blown alcohol engine on his dyno. He qouted me 7800 for a new whole engine with good parts. Dart block, cast heads, stroked to 383 with good crank and rods. roller cam.  I think the 5-7000 is pretty high but dont doubt it.

General Discussion / Re: Poor quality reproduction crap....

Man that's a good looking car lcmc!
I got a distributor cap for my car and i will name the vendor. Online Ricks catalog made it sound like a great  repro.  Thing showed up and it was light gray!  The heater core had a dent in the box and smashed place on the core. I got a core from heart beat city and it is a nice heavy core. Shipping is too high to return stuff

Thanks for the info. I have a set of repro tires no rims and a set of later rallys with BFG T/As. The rings on the rallys are real curved and don't look right. Sounds like the 4 clips will work. I read they came off, people got out to get them, guy hit by cars and the govt made them change them.  Also read they changed when the wheel changed in 69but that doesn't appear true.

I will end up with 2 sets of wheels. Sounds like I better not put the 4 clips on until I am parked!

My car should have the 4 clip trim ring but does anyone actually use them? Sounds like they won't stay on and I should just find the later set?

Restoration / Re: 68 Z28 Front Coil Springs, Which ones?
« on: July 25, 2012, 01:49:15 AM »
My car sat forever add coils shot. I called hbc on the ones just for a z. They said they had some problems that sounded like some springs were not working on the car they were for. So they were not selling them.  Checked other places for the same sounding this is a z spec spring, no one had them. Hbc said get the one they have for all small blocks without air and I did, they are in a moog box. Didn't put them in yet

Mild Modifications / Re: 69 Z-28 Tire Size
« on: July 24, 2012, 12:04:40 AM »
I just got the 215/65s. Alot of the  sizes were back ordered and the only 235 I found was the Coker version. My car doesn't have power steering and my buddy reminded me that fat tire might be harder to turn too

Restoration / Re: fw wheels abd trim rings

What came with the car has clips clear around the outside and where I think the correct ones have a corner, these are more curved going back to the center of the wheel. I might see if they have a part number

My 69z has fw, Monte Carlo wheels. Will the earlier trim rings fit this wheel? Looking for what is supposed to be on it and would like to run the trim rings until I find the right yh wheel

Originality / Radiator painting
« on: July 14, 2012, 03:13:29 PM »
It looks like my radiator probably needs a core. Normally they come back are look like they are dipped in something nasty!  Any special paint others have used or just plan on using the same on the radiator as what will be the same gloss under the hood?
Thanks

Mild Modifications / shocks
« on: July 13, 2012, 12:55:54 AM »
Hello
I am going to have to change my front springs in my 69 Z and wondered if I should change the shocks. Car has mr gasket super drag shocks on the front and monro matics on the back.  Seen kyb and blistens that people liked, along with edelbrocks but jegs doesnt seem to have edlebrocks.
I wont do anything other than a little spirited driving, no racing.  Only person who drove my car was the original owner so the shocks on it have been there a while. I havent drove it enough to know if what I have are any good either

Thanks
