Great that you are trying to reunite the motor with the car. I can ask some of the COPO guys I have come to know if you don't make contact with Wayne

My Camaro is a 09A build with a T0822MN motor date and has a 837 dated 9F17 .  I think the August date you have is fine but our cars are close in production so just chiming in.

Since it is a Van Nuys built 69 it must be an Spet of 68 build ...

Kurt .. I don't think there was an 8K tach available in sept of 68  was there ? My early (Jan) Van Nuys Z has a 7k tach and my March VN Z has an 8k tach....

69 Van Nuys car drop the tank and see if there is a build sheet

Then you have NIKKISDAD on Team Camaro who insists his all orignal and heavily documented L89 never had any black paint on the tail panel :)

Mild Modifications / Re: Suffer from Big Cam no Vacum!!

I have a big inch SB in my car with a roller cam with 4 wheel disc brakes. I had to put an electric pump in . It works well but the down side is when you put your foot on the brake you can hear that pump kick on and work and my car is loud and completley DynaMat'd . So if you can make it work with Mark's sugesstion then that would be great otherwise you can get this pump at Summit . I mounted it front drivers side and when looking straight on to the motor you can't even see it .

I took my original DZ302 and Muncie out of my car and put it away and put a 427 SB and TKO600 in the car . I also put Vintage air and power windows . If you have a console car the power windows are easy . I put my original console away , got a repro and mounted the four switches where the seat belt recievers go . This car is so much fun to drive with a pump gas motor and 5 speed.

If you drive your car a lot like I do these are great mods to make. However if you do not drive your car much I would really think twice about making those changes.

BIN $4,000....??? Is that what they go for?

Blocks are usualy 2K give or take. Then you have heads and internals... nice AIR manifolds go for 750-1200 and the AIR pump goes for some dough. Assuming all of the stuff matches up date code wise 4K would be fair if you had a mid jan car.
