I bought the vacuum line kit for my 302 and I can not figure out how all the parts fit together and I can not seem to find it in the assembly manual.  I have the long piece of hose and a short piece of hose, a metal line which I can tell fits into the carb and goes down to the intake.  there is also a metal fastener that I can not figure out how it goes.  Anyone have pics or can they tell me where to find it in the assembly manual?

Jim the assembly manual on page 99  U6 shows a clip for the distributor. Maybe that's it and a short hose goes to it.
I'll look for a long hose and see if I can find it.  Hope this helps

That clip goes under the intake bolt. You can catch a glimse of it on John's car in this: http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=2680.0 There might be other pics if you do a keyword search.

I don't know if you can see, but the short piece of rubber goes to carb, then the metal tube as shown.  The long piece of rubber goes to dist.

Then I'm mistaken. I thought the hardline had a retainining bracket that bolted to the manifold. And John's hardline appears longer than 68Zproject's pic also, Are the two years different lengths?

thanks for all the help.  I figured it out.  the only thing I am a little iffy on is where the metal line meets the carb.  my metal line will shove right in the carb and make a nice fit.  the rubber hose will not fit over them.  i can use the rubber hose but it isnt as nice a fit as the metal line pushing into the carb.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that 68 didn't have the clip bolted to the manifold.  I have a 68 and 69 AIM.  The 69 shows it, but the 68 doesn't.

If you look in the Z/28 section in the '68 Assembly Manual, the index sheet refers you to the L-78 section for the carburetor installation. If you go to the L-78 section, sheet A4 shows it. The carb end of the vacuum advance pipe is inserted inside the nipple on the carb, and a short piece of rubber hose covers the joint to seal it, just like the photo of my '69 Z/28 shown earlier in the thread. The same L-78 sheet also shows the steel clip for the pipe under an intake bolt (it came as part of the engine).

I got that clip confused with the one for the gas line.
