69 Cowl Induction Question

On a cowl ind.air cleaner assy.you have the air cleaner base then the riser ring then the flange the seal ring attaches to.My question is this,On the flange ring there is a bent lip on the inside radius,What position does this lip go?I want to install the REAR decal.Also what is the purpose of this bend?The riser ring has this bent lip that mates to the distributor dent.So that one makes sense.Thanks in advance,Steve.

Big blocks do not use the "riser ring"; that's why the flange has the bent lip.

I just got the Classic Headquarters kit and because I have a Z I am trying to use the "riser ring."  Problem is that even if I line up the bent lip I can't get the gosh darn thing ring to seat on the air cleaner.  Any help or tricks to getting to seat properly will be appreciated.

Should fit with no problems .Better call Classic .
