Hi everyone,
I am trying to track down or find any leads on my father's (Frank Melesky) lost 1968 Camaro Sport Coupe. He bought it brand new right off the showroom floor around November 1967 at Corbusier Chevrolet on Texas Avenue in Bryan, Texas.
It was a highly unique, high-performance build. Here are the exact factory specifications:
• Partial VIN: 124378N3XXXXX (Norwood build, late calendar year 1967)
• Engine: L30 327 V8 / 275 HP
• Transmission: 4-Speed Manual (M20)
• Exterior Paint: Tripoli Turquoise (Code K)
• Accent Stripe: D91 Front End "Bumblebee" Stripe
• Interior: 712 Black Custom Bucket Seats with Center Console
• Brakes/Rear End: 4-Wheel Drum Brakes from factory, with the mandatory L30 12-bolt rear differential.
Based on historical data, this Tripoli Turquoise + 275hp L30 + 4-speed configuration makes it one of only a handful ever built like it.
Given where it was purchased, there is a very high probability the car spent a significant portion of its life in the Bryan / College Station / Central Texas area. If it was restored over the years, the front brakes may have been converted to discs, but the cowl tag and 12-bolt rear end would tell the story.
If anyone has seen a matching car in registries, owns a Tripoli Turquoise '68 with a matching drivetrain footprint, or has access to older Texas dealer/shipping records from Corbusier Chevrolet, I would deeply appreciate any information.
Thank you,Kenneth Melesky -kenneth883@msn.com

I moved your post out of the Orphans section.

The Orphans section is for re-connecting loose documentation and VIN-stamped drivetrain components with their original vehicles.  This includes Camaro documentation such as window stickers, protect-o-plates, invoices, shippers, etc, and VIN-stamped engines and transmissions that have become separated from the original car.

It is not to find cars.

If you have the VIN or body number that would help. Cars get changed a lot over a 50 plus year period.

Looking for 68 Camaro with body # NOR 181016

If you're looking for the car, you will need to post the entire VIN. Chevrolet never kept records of combinations sold. So, "Based on historical data, this Tripoli Turquoise + 275hp L30 + 4-speed configuration makes it one of only a handful ever built like it" would not be accurate. You could say that about pretty much every car.
