Can anyone assist in reading this tag to see if a true RS?

1968's only had build dates, interior and exterior colors on the trim tags...no other options are on 68 camaro trim tags,
For RS look for evidence of lower back up lights on tail pan, if front sheet metal is original lots of ways to determine if it was RS from factory or if RS grill was added afterwards.

Unfortunately the 68 is a bastard year for options on the trim tag. Without any original documentation, there's really no way to tell if it was born with an RS. There are a lot of parts to make a complete system, and alot of people who add it to a 68 go with the aftermarket electric door system for simplicity.

I disagree. There are alot of ways to tell if it was an original RS. Original piercings in the front fender wells and cowl. Trunk backup light wiring piercing. Take reverse lights out and see if its stamped metal and not cut. Just to name a few

As Jonesy pointed out, there are ways to verify a Rally Sport from a standard model, but unfortunately, no way to tell from the trim tag.

Dang.  More click-bait and I fell for it.  I was dying to see pics of that 68 foot car and ... nope.  Nothing.

Here is a link to the CRG page to help with decoding, to put the other comments into context:  http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#CowlTag

Very true, but the whole nose and lower rear valance, could have all been swapped from a real RS. Who knows. Are there any other things that almost couldn't be switched or swapped?
