See reply 15 and 16.  There are a lot of threads on this in the search function.  Someone before had mentioned in another post about the curled up thing.  I'm not into 69's so I didn't store that in my memory banks.

When '69s get like that they are beyond saving. You can mess with them a bit; trim the edge of the liner and re-glue the pad but it will continue to shrink, harden and curl. 42 years is a long time.

The GM service pad didn't look the same as OE and had a bald spot where the grain had worn off the tooling so NOS isn't the greatest either. I hear the latest repro is nice. Don't waste time and money on an original.

We just put my new OER pad on today and I was really surprised. It fit pretty good and looks half way decent. A lots better than I expected .

Have the OER 69 dash pads gotten better?  The last one I bought was in 2003 and it was disappointing to say the least.  It was like a giant rubber floppy piece that didn't fit quite right and felt nothng like the original.  I don't understand how they can't follow the original assembly methods.  maybe they thought this new way of making them was an improvement.  Anyway, who makes the best repro now and are their levels of quality or is there only one aftermarket dash available?
