I have a List 4053 carb which was on my 69 Z28. I know it is not correct for the car. Fortunately I do have the correct one.
Just wondering what I have.
It is PN 3923289 and is a List 4053. The date code is 3375.
Is this a service replacement? What is the date code? Third week of March 1975?

I believe that's the 337th day of the year.  So, Dec.3, 1975?  I don't have a 1970-75 numbers book, just the '65-69.  But in '68-9, the 4053 was used on the highest performance engines: 302, L89, L78, etc.  Allz I know (from the book)...

It's a service replacement. Read the infomation on Holleys

Flyingskibiker is correct, 337 = Dec 3, 5 = year 75. NOT a service replacement!

Yes, it IS a service replacement; if it was original, it would have a 3-digit date code.

                                                    Date Coding and Identification

1967 through 1969 Holley
The identification number and the date of manufacture are stamped into the forward vertical surface of the air horn. The three digit date code is broken down with the first number being the year of manufacture, the second number (or letter) being the month of manufacture (1 through 0 for January through October, and then the letters A and B for November and December), and the third number being the week of the month. Service parts will have four digit date codes

Thanks, John   :)

That would make it a service replacment for a 1969.   ;)

The 4053 was also used in 1968.

Disagree............someone put a legit 4 digit code 73 -75 4053 holley on the 69!

bertfam

pjbizjak, the 4053 carburetor wasn't used in any 1973-1975 General Motors "production" engine, and was only used during the 1968 and 1969 Model year, therefore, this carburetor is an "over the counter service replacement". An original "production" 4053 carburetor (for 1968 and 1969) would have a 3 digit date code. As this one has a 4 digit date code, it indicates the carburetor was manufactured after 1973, a full 4 years after the 1969 Camaro ceased production.

Perhaps you're confusing the terms "aftermarket" carburetors (which this isn't), with Chevrolet "over the counter service replacements"?

I have one of these service replacement carbs with a 4 digit date code of "0791". Can anyone tell me what that means?  Thanks
