1969 trunk lid?

When I open my trunk, the trunk lid does not "pop" open, is the weight of the spoiler preventing this, or does this car's trunk not pop open?

Spoiler cars used a stronger (thicker) torsion rod on one side to "pop" the trunk.

If both torsion rods are the same diameter, it's not a factory-installed spoiler.

The car was redone and the trunk lid was replaced, I will need to check if the proper trunk lid was selected at that time.

The trunk lid is not the problem its the spoiler weight .

My Z is a LOS 10D built vehicle the torsion bars are of a different size, they have a type of rubber around part of them and
have some over spray on them. The spoiler (short spoiler) according to CRG material was probably installed at the Dealer.

If you have two different diameters of torsion rods, that's a good indication of a factory-installed spoiler; I doubt if many dealers went to the trouble of ordering and changing one torsion rod when they installed a spoiler.

I see an adjustment to move the ends of the bars as well?

Moving the torsion rod ends to the next adjustment slot will help. Go one at a time until desired "pop-up" is achieved.

If you are reying on the torsion bars to id a factory spoiler car, be aware at least one firebird vendor is selling the "correct" torsion bar for firebirds with the spoiler option.
