Short block price

Friend of mine has a Dz shortblock with corvette heads and intake from a 327.  No carb or distributor.  It has been sitting since maybe the mid 70s in his barn. Car is gone. I do not know if it turns over.  I want to make him an offer but not sure what it is worth and do not want to offend him. 
Anyone have an opinion?

Oh its real. I have seen enough stamps and the engine has been in this barn for 50 years Car was getting rusty and him and his buddy pulled the engine and sold the car.  I want it for spare parts and would not be selling it.  Just wanted ideas on what would be fair.  bc and a friend on the yenko site and I had the same general idea so I will see what happens.
