I did a search both here and google looking for information on the 1968 ET axle code.

Is there a previous discussion here or somewhere else?

Tim, Never hear of a code starting with E.  Could it be a B?  A BT code is a 12 bolt with 3.55 gears. Have you determined the rear ration by rotating the tires?

It's very rare. Heavy Duty Service axle used in 1968. Probably less than 10 known today.

So they weren't installed at the factory?

The only thing I saw about them and I don't know what publication this came from.

That's Wayne Guinn's work.
What's the date of your axle?

Kurt,

I don't have an ET axle. I was just trying to learn about them.

No not installed in cars at the assembly plant. Over the counter and not many people knew about them at the time.
