Hi,

Just wondering what the value of a 67 Z/28 rear end is? It's complete with drum brakes and brake lines, has correct codes, single traction bar bracket and posi centre.

Thanks

David K

Are you referring to the housing with the correct stamped codes regardless of any gear that's inside?

Well it kind of depends on the date, ratio, and just what all is included.  Do you have the correct dated ring/pinion and posi?

It really depends on what you have and provenance.

It's a complete rear end including drum brakes and brake lines that you can put into a car and run. It has QK code on axle tube (3.31 ratio) ending in G for Detroit gear and axle with E stamped below the date code for posi. Includes positraction plastic tag at filler bolt and leaf spring mounts. Centre housing has correct casting numbers and date codes for late 1966 and of course it has the bracket for traction bar on one side. I don't believe it's been apart as it still has posi inside and correct ratio gear set but I need to check date code on them. Just wish I had a 67 Z to put it into

Although that rearend could've come out of a Z/28, it most likely came from a ss350. That was the standard gear ratio on that car. 3.73 was the standard gear ratio on a Z/28. Ratios went from 3.07 to 4.88.....Joe

I agree. Most likely from an SS 350.

Depending on the date code, it could also be from an L30/M20. Possible, but unlikely it came out of a Z-28. As for value, probably somewhere around 3k.
