Working on cleaning up my BE rear and have a couple of questions.  Is this the correct pinion yoke for a COPO application?  I've read where the joints should be held by straps/bolts instead of u-bolts like this one?  Also noticed a "58" mark above the cast date tag.  Anyone know what that is for?  And, finally, Noticed a "D" stamped below and left of the BE stamp.....any idea what that is for?

Not the correct yoke for any '69 12 bolt. Should have the larger strap/cap screw yoke. That's why '69 drive shafts are slightly shorter.

Thanks William.  What part number should I be looking for?

The original part number was 3954393. I'm sure it was a vendor sourced part, maybe from Dana. Likely still available from drivetrain suppliers.

Part number 3954393 is the original part number. On February of 1972 it was superseded to 3996118. That part went discontinued on November, 2004.

Thanks everyone for your help both online and offline!  The appearance of the Yukon gear replacement is very different especially in the "inside area where the u-joint sits.  I found a good used original.....one less part on my list to get!
