Hi all, What's the best way to clean a fan clutch(aluminum) to get between those fins etc?

Thanks Pete 68 z/28 04A

Usually they aren't really "dirty". What is on yours that you are trying to clean off?

I know this is strange but your dish washer does a great job in removing all the grease and they come out very nice. Just do not tell your wife. I did it when I was single.

I have this same project to accomplish. 1968Z28 clutch dated 11/2/1967

I use this series of chemicals in conjunction with basic soap & water. As far as scrubbing action I use a 3M scotch-brite greenie pad &/or Nylon and at the most a brass bristle brush.

THE KEY is the Alum Brightener chemical. PPG DX501.

as usual using the correct PPE, Personal Protective Equipment. - Safety First.

I have soda blasted aluminum parts with success which will remove unsightly corrosion without damaging the metal.
