Yep, bought it off eBay. Modified ls1, 6 speed, ford 9 inch. Original Granada gold, six cylinder, stick. Guessing it was a dealer car for the introduction of the "NEW" CAMARO.

Thanks for the info. I currently own  an 08D LA Camaro body number 142,  Vin 246. It may have been during the first week of production.

Is there any information or documentation for the earliest built LA 1967 Camaro? Did LA start with serial number 01 same as Norwood? Thanks for any info. BILL

I have tried the Ohio DMV with no luck. The car is an 05c car. Think this dealer ordered a few burnish brown cars, copo cars also. I talked to the salesman in charge then, but this car was ordered for stock and he doesn't remember who it was sold to. No records remain for the dealer. I guess I need to see if I can find someone from the area who might remember the car to develope a lead. Hoping something will develops from this post. Thanks for the responses.

I have a burnish brown 1969 Z/28 which was sold out is Ewing Chevrolet in Canton Ohio. I have researched it back to 1980 in Poland Ohio when it was owned by Duane Forsyth. Looking for any leads to previous owners from may/June 1969 to 1980. Thanks for any help.

John, I have a question about the paint on the underside of the cowl hood behind the flapper valve. this is the area of the hood that you see from inside the car. Is this area painted body color or left black like under the rest of the hood?

Check distributor dwell also. Points may have slipped.

I am doing a 69 Z right now that I did the dimples in the trunk. reproduction pans don't have the dimples. I used the original pan as a template and made a punch to replicate the dimples. they have to be punched from the bottom. I drilled small holes in the original trunk piece at each dimple. placed it over the new pan and punched a small dimple from the top in the new pan. that would let me identify the exact location of each dimple from the opposite side(bottom underneath car). 2 man job to do dimples. I made a piece of wood with a recess to be placed on the new trunk pan over each location for the dimples and used the punch I made  to replicate the dimples by striking from the bottom. lot of work and time consuming, but I got it done.

Steve, great information. I couldn't wait to get out the pump and figure out what I had. Okay here goes. The pump has a Julian code of 087, but the next character seems to be a T. It is smaller than the other characters, so I was wondering if it could be the top of an I which you noted is for 1969. These characters are followed by the 40987. My car is an 05C with an engine code of 0505DZ. The Julian date could work, but I agree with you that the Julian dates were not used in 1969. That 4Th character just puts a thread of doubt in my mind, but not enough conclusive evidence to suggest that it could be a viable possibility. The bottom line is I will be looking for that 40669 pump for the car. Again, thanks Steve for great info!   Bill 

Thanks for the reply. I guess the only way to document this is for someone to have a survivor or one owner car with the 40987 pump. Hopefully someone out there will be able to provide some info either positive or negative! Good to know that someone else has the same issue.  thanks  Bill 

I know that this has been discussed before, but i would like to clarify the use of the 40987 fuel pump. I have one on my 57K 69 Z/28, which I thought was original. All of the info I have read states that the 40669 is the only correct pump. I have read several threads on CRG, but was wondering if any new info has surfaced since?  Thanks for any info!!   Bill

Bill Mock is the guy to go to as far as I am concerned.  He has been doing them since 1978 and probably has any date you need. Old school guy, no web site,  just a number 918-333-0748. Advertizes in Hemmings all the time. He has done all of my pumps with no issues.    Bill

        I may have some information for you. I have 2 of the 12/1/7 wheels that you are asking about. One is new and painted grey with a green sticker on the inside, such as a service replacement and the other is a used wheel that has been painted for use on a car. Now that doesn't answer the question as to whether they were only service replacement, but I can verify that my new wheel appears to be a service wheel. Doesn't mean that they weren't used for production during that time period though. Just thought I would throw a little more info into this discussion. I wouldn't think that anyone could say that these wheels were not used in production unless some undisputable documentation was produced. Those wheels should be considered correct for your 01B car IMHO.  But hey, I'm not a judge!
