ZL/2 Special Ducted Hood
« on: May 09, 2011, 06:44:17 PM »
Which are the correct hood blanket clips for 69 Z/28. The all solid ones or the ones with 4 small round holes?
Thanks LM69Z28

The holes are already in the hood.  13 around the outside edges and 4 somewhat in the middle.

My response was misunderstood. The plastic retaining clips have 4 small round holes. How are the clips postioned so at what quadrants are the holes in the clips located at.
Imagine looking at the face of a clock to position the holes in the clips onto the blanket
Thanks

Check this link at Alan Colvin's web site. They are at 12, 3, 6 and 9 in this picture but who knows how they  ended up when installed.

I believe the clips were applied randomly!  You can find plenty of these in junkyards on 69 passenger cars, and just clean them up.

They are the rounds ones with the 4 small holes in them.

I bought some of  Alan Colvins clips when he first came out with them and they are the best ones out there .

I don't think blue collars did pay much attention when they slammed the clips in place!
Here is the result of my own mounting:

...you have to push really hard to get them fixed in place, beware of cracked thumbs! ;)

I believe the clips were applied randomly!

That's correct - they  just whacked them in with a rubber mallet; no attempt was made to orient them.
