396/375 or ?

i purchased a 69 camaro x22 that is stamped as an L78 396/375 (JH). i don't trust the stamp, other than pulling the engine, then the pan, is there another way to identify this engine? PLEASE HELP

I believe the 375hp block has the different tapped holes above the oil filer then the 350hp block

maybe these pictures are a little better ? i have been told that the hole in the block for the oil pressure line is larger on the 375, so i included a picture of that.

How could you tell that the pad is restamped? I for one would love to avoid getting ripped off in the furture.

I would also love to know, but that kind of info is usually held close by those who have it. Wouldn't want the fakes to get any harder to spot. If anyone cares to share offline I would be thankful.
