Very cool car, Jim.  I hope it's still out there and you can find it.  Do you recall if you got your license plate from the dealership or did it come from your local DMV office?

That's exactly where Gymiemac came from, my boss tagged me with that back in the early  80's & it stuck ever since

No worries, thanks for confirming you knew of him Jim.
And that is a cool Coronet. There was a hemi '66 (minus engine) on ebay recently that caught my interest.

I am curious why the paperwork didn't go with the car. Especially the title.
I can see the window sticker being kept as a memento, but how do you sell a car and keep the pink?

I sold it to my brother
I had a Porsche & the Z-28
he needed a car
He drove it for 6 months then asked me if he could buy it
He must have gone to the DMV & said he didn't have the title
Your right the Title should have gone alone with the car
We were young & didn't think of all the details

William - I found the following information interesting:
"...As of June, 1969 Chevrolet dropped the 4.10 ratio as a Z/28 option."
Is there documentation indicating why the 4.10 was dropped from a car that actually benefits from more ratio?  Did the cancellation go into effect for orders received in June and beyond?  I have noticed that I have found no late production Z cars with 4.10's but it didn't occur to me that Chevrolet actually cancelled the RPO.  I am adding notes to my reference data base and would like to include this information update. Thanks.

Well if a google search does not turn up anything, you can do it the old fashion way and talk to the guy you sold it to. Guys that purchase cars, go back in time finding all the previous owners of their cars. So that would be one idea. Another would be if you had a friend at the DMV, or police force run the vin and see hat comes back. I think as another option you can run the Vin # through certain states DMV and they can tell you if there is a history of the car. each state is different on what info they will give out. There may even be a service for this that does all the work for you?

No explanation as to why 4.10s were dropped as a Z/28 option. As of June 6, 1969 the axle ratio section of dealer ordering info lists 4.10 with the notation Not available with Z28.

Theory: Warranty failures.
