1968 code 716 Dalmation White Trm interior code on window sticker
« on: September 07, 2016, 02:44:13 AM »
I have never seen hounds tooth called Dalmatian and its spelled wrong so I suspect this is a reproduction window sticker.

Also, the trim tag is coded for special paint, but I cant figure out what code HA would be on the WS.

Opinions?

That dealer did several special paint cars. I'd guess orange originally.
Real window sticker, never seen that interior name used.

If the engine pad (18L322187  V1211MO) is legit, the engine in this car now is out of 124378L322187.

Seller claims  Corvette Bronze is the original color. Special paint may be stripe delete. Any idea what RPO 1001HA  PAINT  means?

Would a standard color with stripe delete be coded on the POP? (no code for paint on this POP)

So the factory used different names for the hounds tooth interior and misspelled words on window stickers?

Please, I am not putting down the folks of S. W. Ohio, but you grossly underestimate the abilities of the Norwood crew. Here is a an example: 2 street signs a block apart in my area.
Great bunch of folks, hard workers (because there was alcohol waiting on payday), fun, loyal, good friends, and more common sense and know how than average. Just not a lot of "sharp knives" in the formal education department. Nonetheless, good folks!

That's great Bentley.
The car on ebay looks like it has spring issues.  I assume a 68 z should sit like a 69

Bill - 68s are faster than 69s, so they needed to be closer to the ground. :)

I didn't think the window sticker was a manual process done on a local level. If that where the case, I suspect there would be many examples of misspelled words and other mistakes.

According to Hinckley:
Quote
The Scheduling clerk had already produced the P-O-P from the Broadcast Copies picked up at the Engine and Chassis lines, the window sticker, car shipper, and final order copy had been produced, and these were placed in the glove box with the warranty folder and owner's manual while the window sticker was applied to the door glass.

I assumed there would be a computer printing these things out and that by the 10th month of production all options would be uni-formally named and spelling errors corrected.

This is the first example of an unconventional named and misspelled option on a window sticker that I have seen CRG opinion-ate as authentic.

I did miss that there is one other 68 with Dalmation interior on the docs - built about the same time, btw.

Here's are quote from the 68 interior codes from the CRG table: "4) 716 was also referred to as "Dalmation White Trim" on  documentation for late 68 NOR cars." So I guess they did change the description and misspelled it to boot, or maybe the spelling is intentional?
