I'm sitting at home cleaning trim and listening to Chesney's No Shoes Radio, happier than a clam. My bodyshop guy has hung the first quarter. I agree, life is good.

The cyclone owner dropped his bottom price. I'm still tempted...

That looks like the trim that covers the quarter seam inside the door... Glad your car is making progress. Moving slow is better than not moving at all!

No sir but good guess. That was my rear windshield windlace. My quarter seam windlaces are in much worse shape, I need some restoration advice on these poor babies.

Well, sort of the blues. Beautiful weather today, thought I'd have the control arms and subframe in primer. Not to be, and the temps plummeting this week. Arms are ready to be shot, subframe about 90% ready. Way more time then I had anticipated in prepping the control arms, fair amount of corrosion set in under the Ziebart. No cancer, but apparent. Also was a good time to clean up the edges from jack stand gouges.

I wouldn't (and am not). I pick and choose. Some of the repro items are as good or better. Then sell the NOS to pay for the resto.

Yes I have so much extra stuff, NOS and original, doubles of some things. I've started putting things up on ebay. My wife says I'm "shedding". I think the stuff I can sell will pay for the restoration. I sold a trunk mat, she said that was dumb but someone wanted it more than I and my car will never be a show queen to need that.

On the car's history, last night I've found the facebook connection to the shop that used to work on this car in the 70's, a friend of a friend who saw a picture of my car in restoration on his page. " i have the orig, carb and intake from this car [ 350 300 hp ]". I wonder if he has the original manifolds and smog equip too???

After 18 months, got my car back. Still some things to finish and some original items were lost, but I drove it out of the shop nearly complete. I'm hitting the cruise-ins and cars and coffee meet-ups like a candyshop junkie.

The paint is soft, I can scratch or dent it with my fingernail. It was painted last October, so I don't think it cured properly. Dunno, but I'm driving it.

Wow, your car looks awesome. The Red looks like you could dive into it.
Scary about the paint not being hard yet. Maybe parking it in a hot garage during the hot summer days will help.

(I do think the car would look good without the spoilers though  ;)

Keep in contact with the guy from the shop, all those original goodies are such a bonus. The original owners family of my red 69, continue to find little parts, and dealer items that their dad tucked away in the basement.

I have another deck lid without spoiler holes waiting to be painted so I can swap it out. Every time I open the deck with spoiler and bump my antenna, I regret them talking me into keeping the spoiler. Stay tuned for pics without spoilers...

And thanks - this red is much better than the old paint.

What kind of spoiler did you use for the front?

The dog dish hubcaps/red wheels/ red lines really make that car pop!
 With the black hockey stripes and SS hood/ endure bumper, you have a really nice car that will stand out in a crowd of 69's
WTG. From the pics, the way the grill and the way the car came together looks like a very well put together car. Everything looks like it fits together well.
Looks so much more refined than your Avatar, of how the car looked prior to restoration.

Can we re-name this thread to "Mission accomplished!" ?..... 8)
