Is there a patent number on the post shaft, near the top of the tube?

That's the more common base from what I've seen.

Sorry I never replied to your post Tim.  I recently acquired a correct jack assembly for the green car 08C (THANKS SPORT!!!!).  Unfortunately I did take any pics of it before putting it in the car.  Here are pics of the base from a few years ago.

don't see a patent #. Also have a 9A with no patent # but my 9J does have one.

Interesting. I have two 8L's - both have the patent. 8A does not.

NOR 05B - trapezoid, no date on rivet. Mast stamped CC07. Base U

LOS 02C - square, 81 on the mast.  Base - blank.
LOS 02E - square, 8B on the mast.  Base - blank.

NOR 04A - trapezoid, 8C on rivet.  Base - blank.
NOR 04D - trapezoid, 8D on rivet.  Base tbd.
NOR  ? ? - trapezoid, 8D on rivet.  Base n/a.

69:
LOS 09D - square, 8J on the mast.  Base - blank.
LOS 10B - square, 8J on the mast. Base - blank. VE3 load rest.
LOS 01B - square, 8 on the mast.   Base - blank.

NOR 11D - trapezoid, 8L on rivet.  Base U69.  (note: convertible, space saver)
NOR 03B - trapezoid, 9C on rivet.  Base U69.

Camaro on the first line & 1969UN on the second line on the hook;
Nothing on the mast itself.
