bolts
« on: January 15, 2015, 05:16:28 PM »
i have a 1969 Z/28 camaro. I was given parts with it. I came across 6 bolts in a zip luck bag. I dont know where or what the bolts go on to.  On the bag is written 33622, L/W 3/8, 300. Can anyone help me out and tell me what they are for and how do i know i have original bolts? I have tons more but these were in a bag the others were lose in a bucket. Thank you for any help.

First off, welcome. You have chosen a great site, with a great group of very knowledgeable people. I would say post some pictures of the bolts, and maybe also of your car  8) .. Danny

Making a SWAG here but.....

     1.  The #33622 is probably the stock number
     2.  L/W is probably short for Lock Washer
     3.  3/8 is probably the L/W size
     4.  300 is probably the quantity in the bag.
Did a search and found that the #33622 is assigned to a 3/8 Lock Washer on the Fastenal web site but I didn't find the exact quantity as listed on the bag.  I have bought bolts, nuts, and washers from the Fastenal stores and they will put them in a bag for you and I can see them writing the info on the bag.

I would think that the bolts in the zip lock bag have nothing to do with the writing on the bag.  So as previously mentioned by Danny, several close-up photos of the bolts from all angles would be needed for the possible identification.

X2 for another welcome!
Some things that you will need if not already in your possession for finding what hardware is used where is an Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM), and I highly recommend a AMK catalog.
Welcome again, and if you complete a search you will find several older threads on screws and hardware. Here you go!
