1967 camaro with 427

New to site and trying to be a gen 1 camaro owner.

Through an uncle there's a pretty reputable individual selling a 1967 camaro with a 427. He's claiming that's is 100% original except he rebuilt the 427 engine and new tuxedo black paint. He has no papers but says it was a dealers car. Anyway to find truth? Vin #124377N166208. I'm waiting for a picture of cal tag.

IT was not installed by Chevrolet on the Assembly lines.
It could be a dealer converted car, however without BULLET proof ORIGINAL Docs you will have a difficult time convincing potential buyers.

Depends on the asking price, but who wouldn't want to own a clean 67 with a 427 ? add M22 + 4:88's mmm...

Adding, I do know of a car where the 427 was installed, instead of the 396 .at the dealer. His father worked there and he was able to have it delivered that way. No special tags or badges.

I saw your other post regarding that 68 BB (big block) Camaro where the trim tag and vin didn't go together, and now I see you are looking at this 67 BB camaro. So my question would be:Do you want an original big block camaro that is all numbers matching, and you are willing to pay the big money because of it?
It sounds more like you want a Camaro with a BB to drive and cruise in, and not have to worry that the car was illegally hacked together, or that it will be a 1000 gold car at some show.
IMO on this car, since there isn't any documentation, you have to somewhat treat the car like the guy just added the 427. If the body is clean and the trim tag, vin, and secret vin all look good, and the title is good then it is worth making a reasonable offer.
How about a pic for us? AND how much is he asking?

Drove 6 hours and was disappointed about the car in my other post. Car was not as advertised. Didn't feel right.

The 67 with 427 just came about by chance by my uncle who works on dirt track race cars. One of the owners has the car and he's done playing with it. He has a very nice collection if you know what I mean. He doesn't have any docs but he's confident. Wasn't able to get a lot of pics. He's asking 38k see pics in next post

Gotta tell you, I like it. Up to you to check for mud ,mechanical  problems etc. .Looks  like he has a nice collection in a clean environment. Personally I love the clean old school look with the few upgrades: serpentine drive, billet alt bracket ,MSD, valve covers .Where's it at ?  Just kidding, mines on the lift and kids in college! Price wise check what's out there on RacingJunk. Check the #s on the block and heads to make sure it's a 427 and not a somewhat low dollar crate 454. If all is true I think price wise it's in the ballpark. How ever as was said, check all numbers out, 12 bolt ,trans---it's all on the site. Buyer beware.

ok, while I think this car (if vin trim tag and title are legit) is a lot better starting point, if it were me I would wanna know how he arrived at that price. IMO he would have to have like 10k in the motor and another 10k in a NEW paint job to arrive near that price. If it is a clean car I would think a fair price would be the mid $20k (based on no docs for the 427). If his car isn't advertised and still seems a bit steep, keep looking at different camaros that interest you, if you look at a bunch and he still wants to sell it, you have a little leverage to negotiate down at that point.
Keep doing your homework on Camaros, asking questions and being pre-cautious and you find a fair deal on a solid car.

I don't see any heater hoses, so I can't say if it is an orig big block car. Get the numbers off the trim tag, the fourth group of options will tell you if it is an original big block.
