 Yes and thank you,  it is the same car.  I really did not want to sell the car, but I have come to place in my life where I have learned that if you sell something when you don't want to sell it you will be much happier with yourself versa trying to sell something and end up taking less than what you wanted for it and then start beating yourself up by saying, I should have not sold it that cheap..

Since I could not get the original motor back from the guy that had it, I started to feel like I was showing a clone at times (just my thinking).  Showing the car gave me a lot of pleasure and pride in owning such a wonderful piece of cars history. I really liked meeting the people and telling them about the car. I will always have fond memories of the car and the wonderful people that crossed our paths, like the many we met in Carlisle PA.. This probably varies from state to state.. In NC, I have ran two DMV title searches. One for a car I owned and one for a car that was sold in Goldsboro NC, now titled and residing in Cal.  The cost for a notarized title search was $10 or $15 dollars.

I was able to track down the second owner of my car based on the title search. You are way ahead of where most people are in there quest to find out information. I'm not sure what else a title search would do for you other than give you some more documentation to have to go with the car. 

I would say that the title search helped me when a guy came up to me this past spring and said I want to buy your car, "do you have history on the car" when I showed him the title search, he said, lets talk money.

I still miss that car....

A very good turnout for the first annual event. I'm sure they had well over 1000 plus entires. Spectator turnout looked to be good as well...

My question is more focused on hidden numbers i.e. water pump, intake, heads, and distributor.  If I were to look at car or if someone would asked me to help them I would like to be able to help and speak without misspeaking. If it could be stated that cars built with motor parts within a week up to three weeks then I would feel that I could accurately look at a motor/parts.

I'm sure this question has been asked many times before and if I new how to research it I would have before asking. What was the average production schedule for motors to be built/assembled prior to them meeting up with there frames and body's on the production line.  I have been reading the book, Echo's of Norwood and it does not go into that level of detail that I recall reading.  Was it one, or two weeks.  I can see stamping a motor with a number to match up with a production date, but when you look at an intake and cylinder heads dated with a one or two day production date before the motor was dated it would lead me to believe less then a week.

This book reminds me of just how great our country was back then.  Yes, they had issues, but in reading the GM history and what was accomplished without the use of computer production technology to do everything is quite an accomplishment.. What was accomplished back then (and before) without the use of the modern convinces we have at our disposal still makes me thankful for all those that forged the way for the brighter minds of today. They were working with cutting edge technology back then and in 45 years if we are still around with be thinking the same thing.

We have come a long way since then, but lost some core values along the way for what  hard work was really like, unless you work in the construction field. Those guys still have a hard job.

I would go down the county seat  register of deeds and see if they have anything from when the car was sold to you. If you had it financed they should have a record of the lean against the car and tax information from when you listed it... They should have some record of the sale based on the loans posted against the buyer of the car. A place to start..

Enjoy the show and you can't go wrong when the weather is in the mid 70"s. There is a swap meet in my city next weekend so if you send me a photo of what trim ring you are looking for I will keep my eyes open for one..

Danny Star - Too far for me to travel. I went to the GGS at Charlotte motor Speedway two weekends ago and was a little confused at how GG's judged the cars. Got there early Friday morning to find out the structure with regards to GG's and was still confused until they told me that my car would be in the "Mighty Muscle". I ask what kind of cars are in this class and  I told its not a class it a group.

Anyway went back earlier Saturday morning, since they said there would be a lot of cars on pit road so in order to get a good spot I would need to be there very early (6:30 am) since they park the cars by class . But again, they don't have classes. Anyway had a great show. There were over 2600 cars, truck, home built cars, rat rods, low riders, rust buckets, to dust buckets, and an autocross track which was fun to watch. 

We received an award pick "Chevy Mighty Muscle" and invited back for Sunday's top 75-85 award winners to be park on pit road.  The swap meet and car coral was week compared to the AutoFair at CMS.  Over all a great show with a lot of nice looking vehicles.

A friend of mine put a 700R 4 in his 66 nova and it fit without doing any tunnel work, but it was a tight fit if I remember correctly. You might even have to have shorten your drive shaft and change the yoke on the.
