It will also line up with a full size cars vin# and date.  LOS was running about 50/50 Camaros/Full size cars in 1967.

It's not in the data base.  It may not even be out of a Camaro.  It could be go to a full size car.

RC,
The axle may be too close to call for a 04A built car.  I was mostly talking about the cowl tag, vin# and engine code.  The engine code looks fine for the vin#, but both the vin# and the engine code do not agree with the cowl tag.

I still need pictures to know for sure what you have.  None of the numbers agree (go together), except for the maybe the vin# and engine code.

What I'm wondering is why the car looks to be correct as an RS with a 327 yet the cowl tag has a 4P. Doesn't that denote SS 350?

It would help if I could see all of the data on your car to give a better opinion.  With that being said, and with what little data you have given, something does not sound right.  CRG's data base has over 5200 67's in it and I don't remember any with what you are describing.
If you want a better opinion, I would need to have pictures of the engine stamp, cowl tag and the vin tag.

This wheel is the optional N30 steering wheel.  You will not find a new replacement for it.  You could change it to use the standard steering wheel, if you want a new one.  You could fix your original one.

Without the 3L on the cowl tag, the car can not be an RS.  You have it correct: "my guess is the car was a base model camaro with a V-8, 4 sd on the floor, butternut yellow with black interior".  I might add that the V8 was one of two engines - 327/210H (LF7) or 327/275H (L30).

Did I read correctly? Cowl tag says 12637?? Dave

Yes, 12637 = Custom Interior Coupe.

Robert,
Can you relook at the cowl tag?  Are you sure that the top line says "06D               A28"?

Originality / Re: Factory Painted Wheels

Most likely, yes.  The standard hub caps were not full size (sometimes called dog dish caps).  Unless it had optional hub caps, the wheels should be painted body color.

It depends.  Does the car have A/C or was it ordered with K02 (Fan, temperature controlled)?  You might want to look at: http://www.camaros.org/coolingsystems.shtml

Yes the valve covers and air cleaner lid should be chrome.

I have a question for you...are you sure you have an SS 350 car?  Could it be a L30/M20? http://www.camaros.org/l30m20.shtml

Yes, this particular tag is a fake tag.

Rich,
It sounds like you have done all of the right things so far.  I's probably is not in our data base, but I can check if you send me the vin#.  Unfortunately, it is only getting harder to track the history of these cars.
