I started this at the point you begin to see the contruction of the 69 TA car... in the back ground the guy on the right is splitting the fender to hand flare it...
Later it shows him with a hammer and dolly stretching the metal out.
another shot shows the end of the drivers door with the hole for air to go through and cool the rear brakes...

Restoration / 69 Tire pressure decals - GREAT REPRODUCTIONS - ECS
« on: April 09, 2022, 05:18:05 PM »
The 69 Tire pressure decals have been a pet peeve of mine as none were on the correct material or correct printing.
IMHO  - ECS has produced a great repro on the correct substrate -metalized paper - (beer bottle label stock)
I ordered a few DX's and today based on the DX ordered a few DW's.
First photo is of the product I received.
Second is their comparison of an original vs theirs vs what is typically available.

Anyone know the car?
How much restoration?
Int appears original and the stripe on the pass side has mismatched stencil application -makes it original appearing anyone know if the car was completely restored or ? ? ?
However the fenders appear like there is just too much paint on them inside the engine compartment. PLus the firewall and PTB stamps are too uniform

Restoration / 69 Deluxe int REAR panels
« on: January 30, 2022, 12:30:47 AM »
Does the edge of the upper rear deluxe panel wrap around the pinch weld in the door jamb with the trim pushed over it LIKE the std interior rear panels?

OR is it supposed to be wrapped around the panel and glued down?

Reason I ask is the repro Al Knoch rear panels have the vinyl wrapped around the edge and glued down,v not loose to fit around the pinchweld.

When I purchased my 67 Z a few weeks ago, along with it came documentation relative to a #8-cylinder plug fouling issue. This information came in the form of field product reports. Basically, if a customer vehicle was having an issue and the dealer couldn’t resolve it, Chevrolet would dispatch a Field Service Engineer (FSE) to the dealer. Once the FSE assessed the situation and fixed or gathered data to supply the product engineering team (to root-cause the issue and formulate a fix) they would write a detailed report. These reports have the dealer, VIN and typically engine build stamp information. Additionally, it will document past work performed and what was done to the vehicle while the FSE was there. Lots of good information.
I have reports covering 7 VINs. All of them are on 68 Z28s. I would like to see if any of these vehicles still exist and if so, I will supply a copy of the information (at no cost) to the vehicle owner ONLY. I hate to be so tight with this information but there is so much abuse these days, I cannot provide to just anyone. So, if you have one of the VINs listed below, I would like to set-up a Zoom (or Facetime) meeting and have you show:
- Vehicle title in your name.
- Your driver license
These VINs are the only ones I have; I have no other documentation to share.

Restoration / L78 M22 pacer - some firewall shots.
« on: June 04, 2021, 03:50:50 AM »
Here are some shots of the firewall on the pacer I am doing for Bergy - Bruce. It's a L78 M22 3.73  endura bumper pacer bought new in Ct. and drag raced early in it's life.
This is going to go together quickly, as the engine trans subframe rear end, top frame, dash cluster, glass mechanisms and etc are restored and ready to go - I believe he has the seats covered as well.

General Discussion / N66 on COPO
« on: April 02, 2021, 03:04:04 PM »
If not mistaken there was at least one COPO with N66, the Daytona Yellow car which Perham (sp) owns(ed).
Does anyone know if they had SS centers or something different?

General Discussion / 68 Yenko L72 block deck stamps
« on: March 06, 2021, 07:12:26 AM »
No specific car - It just came popped in my head, were all the swapped 68 L72 short block's CE's?
Or as just dawned on me, there could have been 68 L72 short blocks with production 68 L72 codes correct?
Or perhaps there was a list of every assembly stamp for swaps for warranty purposes and I am spinning my wheels over nothing?

Just thinking - Has a 68 Yenko ever been found with another block with a 68 L72 suffix, like a caprice or biscayne suffix on the block in the car?

Restoration / Fairchild Latex seals
« on: February 12, 2021, 05:32:07 PM »
Has anyone tried Fairchild's door surrounds and roof rails?
They advertise many latex offerings was wondering were they OEM profile/construction.

Door surrounds appear to have the metal plates in the ends.
