Sorry about that false statement on the 325 350 hp cams being the same. I stand corrected. Good job on the correction.
Thanks

Comp cams will grind you a l34 cam from a hardened blank. I had it done. Just call them and order it up. It wasnt that much more money and wss done in a week.

A lot of time the  cam will go flat from when a car sits a while and the oil runs off the cam & lifters and virtually the car is started dry because the oil has run off the cam and when this is done over and over the friction will wipe the cam out. .  The hardened cam gives some extra protection. Fyi 325 hp and 350 hp 396 is the same cam. Good luck.

I would guess the .oo1 oversize bearing was made a little fat. I would and always pull the cap down with the bolts evenly, but hitting with the mallet to seat the cap is not going to get the bearing crush on it. I wouldn't think twice about running .0035 on the wide rear main bearing. Go with what the plastigauge says it won't lie to you.
 Good luck

General Discussion / Re: Brake light problem
« on: October 16, 2021, 01:22:17 AM »
Hi, i wanted to follow up with what i found out, so maybe it could help someone. I changed out the headlight switch and it did fix the no dash lights. The instrument fuse that had no power, does now have power with the headlight or parking lights on. The dash and gauge illumination work good now and dim properly. in regards to the brake lights and blinkers, the turn signal switch is where the problem lies. I will get it straightened out this winter.
thanks a lot for the advice and help.

Yes, I believe it is the culprit also.  The explanation makes a lot of sense.
Thank you

Yes, I had 1 bulb that was shot and changed it out, checked all the others, made sure the lamp sockets were grounding good on the housing. I figured out that once the turn signal is on if I pull up on it a little like I was going to turn the blinker off the brake lights come on so for sure its in the steering column switch.
I will follow up on what I figure out on the dash lighting and fuse that has no power.
Thanks again

General Discussion / Brake light problem
« on: October 10, 2021, 08:04:32 PM »
Hi, I was hoping someone could help with a problem I am having. I have 67 rs ss camaro. My brake light switch went out, so I changed it out. I was checking all of the lights after I changed it and have noticed that when the blinker is on right and hit the brakes the left brake lights do not come on. When blinker is on left the brake light on right works correct. The brake lights work correct when no blinkers, correct with tail lights on. Anybody experience this? In the steering column switch?  Also I noticed dash lights quit working, I checked fuses and noticed no power to the instrument fuse. I was going to check the headlight switch next as I believe power goes to headlight switch first then to fuse panel. Any thoughts on that?
Thank you all in advance
Kris

I am sure you already thought about just bending your own line up using the 1 you purchased as a template, just change the bend or length how you want it?

Hi, can someone tell me what the correct finish on the headlight buckets? The car has 1 painted black and one is a dull metal finish.  The repro ones are painted black. I would think the metal finish is correct. The car is a Feb build.
Thank you for your time

General Discussion / Re: Third clutch is the charm
« on: October 18, 2020, 09:22:55 PM »
Yes, Thanks for the advice.  i installed new pilot bearing that was supplied with the clutch kit. The problem got fixed with the Zoom clutch. I was just telling my story, take the story for what ever its worth, no worries to me. I wouldnt be scared of installing another LUK clutch. I think it was just LUK of the draw,   Thanks again.
