67 RS SS vert Ebay - COWL TAG QUESTION?

What do you think of this cowl tag? It obviously has been reattached - somehow? Is it a fake tag? Thoughts on overall car? I noticed cowl tag doesn't match up to all options - supposed to be standard interior car, rear antenna.

Thanks for the input!

Its hard to believe this car is already at plus 22K. I have never seen a trim tag more suspect than this. I also sent the seller an email referencing the tag. I'll be very surprised if I get a reply.

...What do you know, he did reply;

The trim tag looks brand new and the rivits appear suspect?

"when the car was restored the cowl tag was removed and cleaned, they did not use the correct rivits to attach it.  I have not fixed that yet.  It will be corrected shortly.

Thanks for the interest."

Weren't all trim tags spot welded ???

Nope. Trim tags were attached with special hollow tubular rivets.

Most trim tags I have seen look like this? I was assuming it was a spot weld...possibly after the rivet was attached?

Marty, that's the filler they used to fill the holes in the rivets when they were done. The rivets were hollow, so this kept wind and noise out of the passenger compartment. You'll see varying degree of filler from very little to huge globs, and once in awhile you'll even see the finger print of the guy that did it!
