I have a perfectly good  '68 302 dipstick except that the rubber seal on the upper part of the dipstick is starting to crack......is it possible to replace the seal?  If so, has anyone seen a replacement for sale anywhere?  I can't recall ever seeing one.
Thanks in advance for any info anyone can provide,
Jerry

Try ordering a GM service replacement and rob the seal from it.

Long Island Corvette Supply (www.licorvette.com) has dipstick repair kits for '63-'67 Corvettes, which have the rubber seal and colored plastic tip, in section 38 of their catalog; they may have what you need.

Yeah cory.....I thought about that....Just wanted to make sure that would work before I tore up my good dipstick.
Thanks,

Hey John....Thanks for the info....checked it out.  Bet I can use the 327 one and throw away the tip.  First time I had seen the kit for sale.
Thanks,
Jerry

Hey John....just received the seal today, installed it....BTW they are glued into place and you have to destroy the old one to get it out and then re glue the new one into place, and it looks perfect.  Thanks a million for finding the info for me.

Will that work for the 69 dipstick as well?

It should. No real difference in the design that I'm aware of.
