Appears to have been decked during rebuild, worked to remove machining marks, and restamped; also, the "build sheet" in the photo is a fake.

And the window sticker is a fake too.

Wow!  The seller's description states in capital letters and highlighted in bold...  "ORIGINAL BUILD SHEET, WINDOW STICKER, AND PROTECT-O-PLATE!!!!!"     >:(

Unfortunately, I am being convinced more every day that as Alan Colvin states in his By the numbers series of books, Camaros more and more have to stand on the merits of the car itself, and not paperwork, as there is so much fraud out there. I like the rusty seat spring marking on the build sheet!

It really looks like the pad on the block has been polished, because the edges are rounded, and there are no circular deck marks, so its hard to say for sure.

The characters look to be fragmented and not clean which means the block has been decked and restamped.

What is the mark a little bit before where the vin stamp starts? Could that have been part of the previous stamp if there was one or from the holder on the restamp? More and more LA Z'z show up everyday, new trend as the fake Norwood tags get busted?

I noticed that on the cylinder heads seller lists part no. and casting date, whereas engine block only lists part no. and not casting date, like maybe it does not fit build time frame??

The truth lies beneath the head gasket. If it is indeed original there would be traces of the OEM head gasket. Looks like it's been polished to me.
