Which water pump would be correct for a Norwood built 04C 69 Z,170 or 692?

Both are correct, but the 3953692 was used more frequently.

692. The 170 pump was more likely to be on a Tonawanda engine. thats what the T stands for after the casting number on a 170 pump.

Flint supplied the 302's in 69. However, I think there are a few examples of Tonawanda made 302's, although I have never seen a documented one with a 170 pump on it.

I don't agree - all 302's were produced at Flint V-8.

i have an  04c 350 ss and my water pump is a 692, which is correct

All 302s were built at the Flint assembly plant.  Either pump is acceptable for judging in the "Legend Certification."
