Date correct Alternator ?

   I have what I believe is the original Alternator for my Camaro.  The car was built Nov. 03 66 per NCRS shipping doc.  The Alternator is; 1100693  37Amp  build date codecis; 6K21 which codes out as 66-k=Oct. 21st.  Is it normal for the alternator to be that close to build car build date?   like 13 days?
