67 Hood question

My Plum 67 RS Z28 is one Bob Harris bought out of Socal about 1990. The video he took back then detailed stripe dimensions etc as it was orig. paint. I was told the other day when I showed someone the car that the hood was not orig.because of the plate shown in the pic. Was told it is not assembly line but later over the counter. Bob is sure it was the orig hood unless someone replaced it later.

I have looked at a lot of hoods. Have never seen that bracket on an original.

Three of the hoods pictured in the link x66 714 provided show that exact bracket on them. But they are all cowl hoods, not original in 67.

The red "Late 69 cowl hood underside", the silver "First design cowl hood", and the darker gray "Second design cowl hood" all have it in the pictures.

It's not correct for a 1967 Z28. Context of this thread is important.

When we wrote that article we had hundreds of pictures of original hoods for reference.
