While at a car show this evening, a guy was quite certain that my vents were for air conditioning.chrome on the outside, matt black fins. Does anyone know if my cowl tag would tell me if it's an original ac car? What's th code
Many thanks

If you're talking about the ball vents, all 68 Camaros had those. If it was a 67, that would be an A/C car....Joe

Gotta love the guys who are "quite certain" about the facts they manufacture.

In 1968 the outboard interior Vent ball and valve and associated ducting was part of the Astro Ventilation (aka 1967 Wing Window elimination)

To you question: No the 1968 Fisher Body Cowl tag would contain no codes related to Air Conditioning. The Body of the Car would have many clues, Structural & cutout & attachments indicating a AC Car.

Here is a Neat GM drawing: Untreated Air:  External to Internal to External - air flow.
