Hoping for some opinions on the originality of this engine/stampings. I bought the car 1969 Z28 with this engine in it and I know it's not original to the car based on the VIN. It appears to have been decked just up to the stampings. I confirmed it is a 4 bolt main.
Thanks for any help!

Not a fan of the partial but MIGHT be ok but that L is not one I have seen before.  Assembly date compares well of a couple I have on file.  What is the casting date on the block?

The V1010DZ stamping looks legit; the VIN stamping does not.

Van Nuys Z/28s built at that time [Dec 3, 1968] have mid-November engines. Late October builds have early October engines. The only data points I have for Oct 10 are in Norwood cars.

Ditto Bill.

Would a gang stamp assy allow that much misalignment?
