Engine Code POP and Block Pad

For a born with engine, shouldn't the engine assembly code on the Protect-o-Plate match the engine pad stamp?  My car was resold early and I only have the warranty POP, which does not provide much information; however, I have some early receipts that have the POP imprint.  The POP imprint shows the engine code to be T0605DZ, but the engine pad shows V0605DZ.  I think it's the born with engine further supported when I found the date to match and the DZ code.  I didn't question the T at the time, but recently was reading that DZ engines were not assembled at Tonawanda.  I have also read about typos on POPs. so that is my current assumption because I am guessing that the POPs were manually created and subject to mistakes.  Any other known examples of this kind of discrepancy in the POP engine code or other explanations for what may have caused the discrepancy?

You'll need to post some quality pictures for the experts to determine....Joe

Here are some pictures, but the quality may not be good.

That didn't work.  Here's another try.

Here is another attempt at reducing the KB of the pictures to stay below the limit.

I wouldn't trust the warranty book 100% and you will also need to share higher res photos of the pad to get a better opinion on the legitimacy of the stamp in question.  This might require you to remove the alternator to do so.  But to sorta answer your main question; yes there are known mistakes on POP's.

That is not the first 69 Z28 POP I have seen which was mis-stamped with a "tonawanda" DZ.

Exactly what I wanted to know.  I appreciate the responses.  Given what I know about the history of this car and the documentation that I have, I am fairly certain that it has the born with drivetrain.  I may pull the alternator and clean the pad to get better pictures.  Thanks.

Do not use anything abrasive on the pad.
Just use some lacquer thinner on a rag, then lightly oil it with rem oil or boeshield.

Here are a few more picture of the pad after cleaning with lacquer thinner.

POP just seems to be an error, not a big deal.

I will try to see if I have any examples of that DZ date stamp later.

Engine stamping seems to be fine.

Maybe others will chime in.
