Easy fix,  that's for a mid June car, very early trans assembly date.

Can be fixed but I am not sure the 3 issues would be called easy.

What do you mean by "very early trans assembly date"?

Presumably, early March trans in a mid-June car?

Could be. But it is not unusual. SOME (not all) other cars around that VIN have similar trans assembly dates.  That case has been known for over 13 years.

Transmission dates can vary, sometimes by a lot more than you would think.  I have an M22 assembled late January 1969 that didn't go into a car until early August.

M22 is a different deal only approximately 2000 cars, no where near as many used in 69 as the M21
The EBay case is approx 2000 cars after my own Z, and the trans assembly date is almost 2 months earlier . Mine is P9D28. I've been keeping watch on June cars for years, most have May dates.

Maybe not for some but actually not that hard to do. I've fixed lots worse cases, the tapped hole on top and cracked ear can easily be tig welded up, then rolloxed off and shot peened or tumbled to refinish. The thrust is probably OK, I've seen lots of cases chewed up around where the bearing support plate goes, this is usually caused by exploding either the counter gear or 1st gear.

They didn't build M22s if they didn't need them. I am actually quite aware of the production numbers.

2117 M22s in 69 Camaros. 1276 in Chevelles.

Nice. Is the 68 Muncie you have from a Camaro? If so what is the partial VIN?
